Models, Boxers, Bodybuilders & Ultimate Fighters on a Vegan Diet Plan

Many people, in a variety of careers, have found that the Vegan diet plan can work for them, no matter their career field and that this lifestyle is just as easy to maintain in their line of work; as well as, found it to even excel their career. Models, boxers, body builders, and even UFC fighters live very healthy lives and maintain successful careers while choosing the Vegan lifestyle.

Model, Anthony Anderson said on the Huffington post, that after only two weeks “…I felt so amazing that I could never go backs again.” And he believes “…it has the most nutrition…” As a model Anderson has to maintain a tone physique and has no problem doing so, as he gains plenty of raw protein coupled with consistent exercise. (Great article here about raw protein in whole foods plant based here at life.unlabled.com.) Matter of fact, (according to Nubry), the Vegan diet on the go has become very popular lately amongst many Victoria Secret models such as, Lily Aldridge, Erin Heatherton, Karolina Kurkova… and more. As models, they live a very busy lifestyle and found that the vegan diet not only works great to not only help them survive fashion week, but keeps them healthy on a full time basis while maintaining their desired weight.

Marzia Prince is unique, as she is not only a bodybuilder, but a professional fitness model as well. According to an interview on Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness, she had adopted the vegan diet to help her deal with her food allergies, but has now found this to be one of the best benefits for her personally and in regards to her career. She feels relieved to not have to go through the vicious cycle of vigorous dieting before a competition and then after, was left feeling fatigued and hungry, which than led to binge eating and unwanted weight gain.

`Mac Danzig, Winner of the Ultimate Fighter (Season 6), despite years of criticism and skepticism among peers he maintains a Vegan lifestyle and has for many years. According to an article on UFC, Danzig started this lifestyle 8 years ago and just recently has been met with more acceptance over his decision to eat Vegan. The biggest misconception he addresses with athletes is the need they feel for large amounts of protein in order to gain and maintain muscle. He says the same can be accomplished with a vegan diet, as it is less about protein and more about a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.  (Great article here about raw protein in whole foods plant based here at life.unlabled.com.)

Cam Awesome, extreme heavyweight and amateur boxer, who even won the Arnold Classic Super Heavyweight title in 2003, credits a lot of his success in his career to living a Vegan lifestyle. Unlike Awesome who started his Vegan diet to lose weight; Austin Aries, American Pro Wrestler, pursued a Vegan lifestyle after seeing studies, research and documentaries on the corporate food system of America. Aries states, “As I continued on my journey and became more aware and educated on the corporate food system I’ve made better choices” (Great Vegan Athletes).

All in all, there are numerous people, working in many different types of career, discovering the success of living a Vegan lifestyle. All of their reason, careers and personal goals are different, but their success and overall satisfaction and success are very synonymous with each other.

Rich and Famous on a Vegan Diet Plan

Catering, selective focus, canon 1Ds mark III

President Clinton started eating a whole foods plant based diet after enduring a quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 and a later stent surgery, the 42nd President adopted a vegan diet in 2010. He’s has now  lost over 20 pounds, and has become a believer in a vegan and meatless diet. Clinton told a CNN reporter. “All my blood tests are good, and my vital signs are good, and I feel good, and I also have, believe it or not, more energy.”

Carrie Underwood grew up on a farm, however she became a vegetarian at age 13. Later realizing she was slightly lactose intolerant she jumped to being a vegan in 2011.  She does slip up for traditional or social reasons if need be. Entertainment Wise reported here saying: “I am a vegan but I consider myself to be a practical vegan, if I order something on a menu and it has a sprinkling of cheese on top I’m not going to send it back.”

Long-time vegetarian Natalie Portman went vegan in 2009 after reading Jonathan Safran Foer’s Eating Animals. She even went on to blog about it on The Huffington Post. “The human cost of factory farming — both the compromised welfare of slaughterhouse workers and, even more, the environmental effects of the mass production of animals — is staggering,” she wrote.

Alicia Silverstone went vegan more than 15 years ago at age 21, according to Health Magazine. Silverstone told Oprah that she had puffy eyes, asthma, acne and insomnia and constipation but after making the switch to a whole foods plant based diet all of that cleared up. The New York Times reports she loves animals and decided to make the switch after watching documentaries on the food industry. Silverstone authored The Kind Diet, a book on vegan cuisine in 2009, and offers other diet pointers and green tips on her website, The Kind Life. Excellent website, loaded with lots of good information health and fitness tips and how to live a healthier life. http://thekindlife.com

Woody Harrelson The Hunger Games star is hungry for a whole foods plant based diet as well and has been for over 25 years, according to a previous Huffington Post article. At the beginning of Harrelson’s career a girl noticed him blowing his nose when he was taking the bus home and he had acne all over his face which he had had for years. She looked at him and said you are lactose intolerant. If you quit dairy, all these symptoms will be one in three days. He was 24 at the time and figured he had nothing to lose so he tried it and sure enough within 3 days gone! Harrelson is also environmentally conscious. He lives on a working organic farm in Maui with his family, refuses to talk on a cellphone because of electromagnetic waves, and prefers to drive energy efficient cars. Mother Nature Network reports that he is a co-owner of Sage, a vegan restaurant and the world’s first organic beer garden that opened recently.

After reading Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Furhman and feeling unhealthy from weight gain and processed food, the singer-songwriter Alanis Morsette became vegan in 2009. OK Magazine reported that she made the switch to a whole foods plant based diet for “Longevity. I realized I want to live till I’m 120. There’s a lifestyle that I am now happily creating that can, as best as is possible, prevent most forms of cancer and other diseases.” In the interview she also said that she had lost 20 pounds within months of becoming vegan and feels more energetic.

These are just a few examples of many, many famous people switching to the new whole foods, plant based life style. Also check out my wife’s awesome cookbook below to start your new whole foods plant based journey!

Facts about Obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancer

heart-disease

The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” Thomas Edison”

“One quarter of what you eat keeps you alive the other three quarters keeps your doctor alive” Ancient Egyptian proverb.

“He that takes medicine and neglects diet, wastes the time of his
doctor. “
 Ancient Chinese proverb.

Did you know that the average American carry’s over 23 extra pounds? No less than 40% of all American’s are considered obese. 1 in 5 children are considered obese by the age of 4. More than half of all obesity is treated with prescription drugs. Not diet or exercise, Drugs. As a matter a fact Lipitor is now one of the number one drugs subscribed today in America! Taking a pill is not the answer to our problem. The answer to our problem is convincing more people to switch to a whole foods plant based diet and cut down on animal product consumption.

Heart Disease / Endothelial dysfunction

In human vascular diseases, endothelial dysfunction is a systemic pathological state of the endothelium (the inner lining of blood vessels) and can be broadly defined as an imbalance between vasodilating and vasoconstricting substances produced by (or acting on) the endothelium.[2] Normal functions of endothelial cells include mediation of coagulation, platelet adhesion, immune function and control of volume and electrolyte content of the intravascular and extravascular spaces.

Heart disease is at an all-time high, did you know that 1 person dies from heart disease every minute. Over 1/2 million people per year have heart surgery where they move an artery from your leg and replace one or more artery’s going into their heart. Over 1/2 million per year! This is costing over 50 Billion dollars in health costs per year just for heart surgeries. Over the years on the wrong kind of diet plaque builds up in our artery’s and when it breaks loose it can clog the artery causing a heart attack.

In the United States alone heart disease is killing over 600,000 people. Heart disease in China where the consumption of animal products is much lower is 12 times lower than in the United States. Another interesting fact I got from the documentary Forks over Knives is 50% of fire fighters deaths were heart disease. Not fighting fires, not car wrecks heart disease. As a matter a fact 70% of the calls that come into the fire department are related to either the heart, diabetes or cancer.

“Whole, plant-based foods contain all the essential nutrients (with the exception of vitamin B12), and in proportions that are more consistent with human needs than animal-based or processed foods.” Quote from Forks over Knives

I have talked to several people personally about a whole foods plant based diet and they simply scoff and say oh I could never give up my meat or I could never give up my cheese. Most of these people are 50+ pounds overweight with one foot in the grave. So when it comes down to it they would rather go through open heart surgery then simply change their diet.

Diabetes

In recent years studies show that Type 2 Diabetes is off the charts, it is at an all-time high. 1 out of 3 people will develop type 2 diabetes in their life time. Type 2 Diabetes can actually be reversed with a whole foods plant based diet. In the documentary Forks over knives one of the patients they treated reversed type 2 diabetes within 20 weeks.

Cancer

Over 1 million American’s die every year from heart disease and Cancer.

Cancer is at an all-time high, 1500 people die per day from one form of cancer or another.

In 1972 Breast cancer in Kenya was 82 times lower per capita then in the United States.

In 1958 it was recorded that only 18 people died from prostate cancer in Japan and at the same time in 1958 over 14,000 people died from prostate cancer in the United States.

In a recent study they took some lab rats and changed their diet to 20% protein (meat and dairy). Those rats all developed cancer within the give time frame and the rats that were on only 5% protein never developed cancer at all.

Some Cancer is hereditary however it is estimated that is only 2%. Out of the 2% that is hereditary is has been proven that you can actually shrink it with a whole foods plant based diet. Take the same 2% hereditary and have a animal based diet it is sure to grow and spread throughout your body at a much faster rate.

American Health Costs

Did you know 75% of government spending and insurance is spent to cover up the
problem? Insurance has to pay out for medication, I personally know somebody that developed leukemia at a very young age and his chemo medications run over $4000 per month. Praise the Lord he has insurance that covers that. However when you look at his past diet history I can’t help but say but I do believe a whole foods plant based diet would have kept him from developing leukemia. (Read more the story here!) He now eats a whole foods plant based diet and is healthier than ever!

We could easily cut health care cost by 70 to 80% if we switch to whole foods plant base diet. Do you know how much money that is?

We are spending 2.2 trillion per year on health care, this is way more than the defense budget.

Dept. of agriculture decides what America should eat. They are the ones deciding what the public school lunches serve and the bulk of it is animal based products. As a matter a fact they have been known to push animal products and put whole foods plant based on the back burner.

    1. Educate themselves regarding nutrition and exercise. Knowledge is power

  2. Avoid Fad diets. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
  3. Make eating out the exception rather than the rule, restaurant food is notoriously loaded with excess fat and calories.
  4. Exercise in the morning, many people find too many diversions as the day progresses
  5. Eat what the cavemen ate, think unprocessed, whole foods, plenty of organic fruits and vegetables. Occasionally they ate meat but don’t make it the primary part of your diet.

Flushing out all the built-up toxins from your cells, cleansing out your pipes and getting your body back to running at 100 percent? Wouldn’t it be so nice if you could do this just by drinking juice, Eating veggies and whole foods, well you can!!! Here is a great 6-week challenge meal planning recipe guide that can help you achieve exactly that!

Interesting facts about the stomachs receptors.

Part of the reason more and more people are becoming obese is because of the way food is processed. Here is an interesting fact about our Stomach Receptors!

Let’s say you consume 500 Calories of Whole food plant based veggies, that 500 calories sets off the stomach receptors letting you know that you are full.

Now take 500 calories of meat / animal based products, they are so much richer in calories that the receptors don’t get triggered as soon because you to feel hungry even after putting away a double Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

Then you add oil to the mix, the greaser the food and the more oil that is in the food the more dense the calories are so it takes even more until your stomach receptors begin to trigger and let your brain now you are full. I am telling you this so you can be aware of what your body is doing.

#1. 500 Calories of carrots is completely different then 500 calories of meat. Sorry but a calorie is not a calorie. (Check out this post for a great example of what 1000 calories of veggies look like compared to meat)

#2. 500 calories of veggies is a ton of veggies compared to 500 calories of meat. (Check out this post for a great example of what 1000 calories of veggies look like compared to meat)

#3. 500 calories oil is about 2 tablespoons.

30 Day Diet Plan – Why Not Vegan?

51b8794fb104e1f0785e75c19c574315

I have tried so many different diet plans but nothing has worked better than this Vegan diet plan. I have a challenge for you if you are up for it. My recommendation to you is if you are looking for the perfect 30 day diet plan then you should try our vegan cookbook for your 30 day diet plan. This vegan cookbook has over 100 meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner for 3 weeks so for the 30 day diet plan just repeat the first week giving you 30 days with this diet plan. I guarantee you will lose more weight with this vegan diet plan then you have every lost in 30 days before. The GREAT NEWS! You don’t have to starve yourself, honestly this isn’t even really a diet, and you won’t feel like this is a diet. It is a life style change that will change your life for the better forever.

If you try this for 30 day’s you will begin to feel better, your body will begin to flush out toxins that have built up in your system over the years. This lifestyle is a whole foods, plant based diet. If you do some research on some of the different 30 day diet plans you will find that vegan is the way to go. Below is some great information I have acquired from a great documentary called Forks over Knives.

Did you know in the beginning of the 20th century that on average each person was consuming 120lbs of meat annually? Obviously some people ate more than others however the meat consumption of the U.S. was @ approximately 120lbs per person per year. If you think about it, that is not very much meat for one person for the entire year. Over the years this number began to increase and by 2007 it had almost doubled just in the U.S. The meat consumption per person was up around 223lbs per person per year. Not just meat consumption but all animal products. Dairy, in the 1900’s was at about 300lbs per person, by the year 2000 that doubled to approximately 605lbs per person. That’s a lot of milk and cheese! Milk is like drinking liquid flesh, honestly after doing some research on cow milk it is not very good for you. Yes it is full of calcium which is good for your bones however because it is loaded with calcium and not magnesium it can cause a reverse effect. Calcium and magnesium are both needed to strengthen your bones. If too much calcium enters your body and is not balanced then it has been known to steal magnesium from your bones causing counterproductive results.

What is very interesting about the research on Calcium needing magnesium to be productive? In a whole foods plant based diet not only is there plenty of calcium in veggies but there is also the perfect proportion of magnesium to produce very productive results for your body.

Let’s talk now about meat, what is meat for? Yep you nailed it Protein! Everybody knows that. There is actually plenty of protein found in whole foods, plant based products. The average American gets about 400% more protein then they need according to Food Inc. In the 1960’s heart disease was on the rise and we didn’t know why. Doctors were finding that cholesterol levels were off the charts. The Cholesterol levels come to find out where the cholesterol’s that you find in meat, milk, cheese and eggs. The cholesterol from animal products unlike the cholesterol found in whole foods they were finding out it was staying in the blood stream longer. Which takes us back to one of my previous posts about “How to lose weight fast” as quoted “the composition of the macronutrients in meat is primarily protein and fat so your body can’t digest it quickly.” Creating the buildup of cholesterol causing future heart problems. Please sign up for more post but in the meantime please try this vegan cookbook for your 30 day diet plan. You will not be disappointed I promise.

The Perfect Vegan Diet Plan

Vegan Diet Plan

There are a ton of vegan diet plans out there but this vegan diet plan has been tested and proven time and time again. It is a perfect start to a new vegan diet. Check out the testimony section. I am a hunter and was a meat eater all of my life but going into my 30’s I was starting to really put on the pounds and no matter what I tried I could not lose weight. Let me rephrase that no matter what diet I tried. I didn’t feel like I had enough time to exercise, this is the coolest part about this vegan diet plan. I lost over 21lbs in 2 months and I didn’t even exercise. Not only did I not exercise I ate as much as I wanted. As much as I wanted of the designated food that is.

Skeptical? Of course you are, that’s not how diets work right? No, diets usually starve you leaving you hungry and unsatisfied. Results sometimes work but not always, then in the end you give up because the sacrifice is not worth the results. What you will find is this is not only a Vegan based diet but most recipes recommend cooking without oil as well. Not even olive oil is good for you, no oil is good for you. Even the oil found in some of the fake butters is not good for you. Some food does need butter so I do occasionally use fake butter but in very limited portions.

If you are a meat eater then this vegan diet plan won’t be easy, I figured out that my favorite food is hamburgers. Especially for the first 2 weeks all I could think about was hamburgers. However, after about 2 weeks the meat and cheese cravings went away, my substitute for cheese was guacamole , I love guacamole, As a matter a fact you should check out this recipe here for the best guacamole ever!

Not convinced please visit this post: (6-Week Challenge – Whats in this cookbook / meal planner) that goes in depth into what is in this cookbook / Meal plan and for $19.99 you will find nothing else even close to this.

Vegan Diet Plan

What you will find as you start this transition / diet is that this really is not a diet at all. Honestly it is a change of life style. Seems like everybody has problems with there body, there is always something we would like to change.

Are you tired all the time? Don’t feel like you can drink enough coffee? Do your joints hurt? Headaches? Stomach problems? Heart problems? etc. I could go on and on.  Well the crazy thing is by eating less animal products and switching to a Whole Foods plant based diet you can fix so many discomforts in life. Me for example: I was pretty healthy growing up and never really had any problems with my weight or stomach until College. College dorm food, that’s what messed me up. I will never forget not only did I put on 20 extra pounds but my stomach started giving me fits as well. Later I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. That’s a term the doctors came up with when they can’t figure out what is really wrong with you. See “My Testimony” for the rest of the story.
