Did you know that the average American carry’s over 23 extra pounds? No less than 40% of all American’s are considered obese. 1 in 5 children are considered obese by the age of 4. More than half of all obesity is treated with prescription drugs. Not diet or exercise, Drugs. As a matter a fact Lipitor is now one of the number one drugs subscribed today in America! Taking a pill is not the answer to our problem. The answer to our problem is convincing more people to switch to a whole foods plant based diet and cut down on animal product consumption.
Heart Disease / Endothelial dysfunction
In human vascular diseases, endothelial dysfunction is a systemic pathological state of the endothelium (the inner lining of blood vessels) and can be broadly defined as an imbalance between vasodilating and vasoconstricting substances produced by (or acting on) the endothelium. Normal functions of endothelial cells include mediation of coagulation, platelet adhesion, immune function and control of volume and electrolyte content of the intravascular and extravascular spaces.
Heart disease is at an all-time high, did you know that 1 person dies from heart disease every minute. Over 1/2 million people per year have heart surgery where they move an artery from your leg and replace one or more artery’s going into their heart. Over 1/2 million per year! This is costing over 50 Billion dollars in health costs per year just for heart surgeries. Over the years on the wrong kind of diet plaque builds up in our artery’s and when it breaks loose it can clog the artery causing a heart attack.
In the United States alone heart disease is killing over 600,000 people. Heart disease in China where the consumption of animal products is much lower is 12 times lower than in the United States. Another interesting fact I got from the documentary Forks over Knives is 50% of fire fighters deaths were heart disease. Not fighting fires, not car wrecks heart disease. As a matter a fact 70% of the calls that come into the fire department are related to either the heart, diabetes or cancer.

I have talked to several people personally about a whole foods plant based diet and they simply scoff and say oh I could never give up my meat or I could never give up my cheese. Most of these people are 50+ pounds overweight with one foot in the grave. So when it comes down to it they would rather go through open heart surgery then simply change their diet.
In recent years studies show that Type 2 Diabetes is off the charts, it is at an all-time high. 1 out of 3 people will develop type 2 diabetes in their life time. Type 2 Diabetes can actually be reversed with a whole foods plant based diet. In the documentary Forks over knives one of the patients they treated reversed type 2 diabetes within 20 weeks.
Over 1 million American’s die every year from heart disease and Cancer.
Cancer is at an all-time high, 1500 people die per day from one form of cancer or another.
In 1958 it was recorded that only 18 people died from prostate cancer in Japan and at the same time in 1958 over 14,000 people died from prostate cancer in the United States.
In a recent study they took some lab rats and changed their diet to 20% protein (meat and dairy). Those rats all developed cancer within the give time frame and the rats that were on only 5% protein never developed cancer at all.
Some Cancer is hereditary however it is estimated that is only 2%. Out of the 2% that is hereditary is has been proven that you can actually shrink it with a whole foods plant based diet. Take the same 2% hereditary and have a animal based diet it is sure to grow and spread throughout your body at a much faster rate.
American Health Costs
Did you know 75% of government spending and insurance is spent to cover up the
problem? Insurance has to pay out for medication, I personally know somebody that developed leukemia at a very young age and his chemo medications run over $4000 per month. Praise the Lord he has insurance that covers that. However when you look at his past diet history I can’t help but say but I do believe a whole foods plant based diet would have kept him from developing leukemia. (Read more the story here!) He now eats a whole foods plant based diet and is healthier than ever!
We could easily cut health care cost by 70 to 80% if we switch to whole foods plant base diet. Do you know how much money that is?
We are spending 2.2 trillion per year on health care, this is way more than the defense budget.
Dept. of agriculture decides what America should eat. They are the ones deciding what the public school lunches serve and the bulk of it is animal based products. As a matter a fact they have been known to push animal products and put whole foods plant based on the back burner.
